BF Home and School Association

The HSA supports BF activities and provides additional enrichment to the school program. We encourage parental involvement at all levels. You make it possible for the HSA to promote the welfare of all students, maximizing opportunities for their physical, mental, and social development.

HSA meetings are held each month.  These meetings are open to all BF parents/guardians. We encourage all to attend.

We always need volunteers.  Take a look at our volunteering opportunities and consider donating some of your time.  BF needs your help!

Friends of BF Annual Fundraiser

IPAD2 GIVEAWAY

Don't forget to make your donation to the Home and School Association and get a chance to win a brand new IPAD2!  Remember every donation gets you a chance!  Look for your letter in the mail or click here for our annual campaign letter.  The mission of the Friends of BF is to raise funds to enhance the educational experience of all students at BF.  We work with our principal, Tony Orsini, to identify worthy expenditures that will not be funded through other channels in the school system due to budget constraints.

Love Your Library

The BF Media Center and the BFHSA invite you to show how much you Love Your Library!  Share the love of reading by donating a book in honor of your child.  Whether it’s their birthday, their first soccer goal of the season or simply a job well done, celebrate their achievement by purchasing a book for the BF Library in their name.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill out this form and send it to the main office clearly marked:  Love Your Library.  Enclose a check for $20 made out to:  BFHSA

  2. Once your form and check have been received, your child will be contacted to visit the media center to select a book from the library’s newest collection.

  3. A personalized bookplate will be created and placed inside the book and your child will be the first to take this book out of the library to enjoy.

We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful new program.  Not only will you be recognizing and celebrating your child, but your gift will be enjoyed by others for years to come.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Affinity Program

We are happy to announce a new partner in our fundraising efforts.  Federated Home and School Association has joined TD Bank’s* Affinity Program which provides us with an opportunity to earn annual cash donations from TD Bank.  We are thrilled with how easy it is to participate in this program and there is no cost to do so.

Here’s how it works:

TD Bank will donate a percentage of the annual balance in every one of our members’ accounts.

No withdrawal is made from your account; TD Bank donates its own funds based on your balance.

Checking, savings, money market, CDs and retirement accounts are all included!  Also, there is no limit on the amount of our potential donation!  (All balances are confidential; only TD Bank will have that information.)

Here’s how you can help:

If you already have a TD Bank account, just call any office and tell a Customer Service Representative you would like your account linked to our Affinity Membership Program.

That’s it……..TD Bank will take care of the rest.

The BF Book Group:  This Month's Book

The Orphan Sister (304 pages), by our own Gwendolyn Gross, a BF mom!  She will join us to discuss her book at our meeting on October 21.

Clementine Lord is not an orphan. She just feels like one sometimes.  One of triplets, a quirk of nature left her the odd one out.  Odette and Olivia are identical; Clementine is a singleton.  Biologically speaking, she came from her own egg.  Practically speaking, she never quite left it.  Then Clementine's father‚ a pediatric neurologist who is an expert on children's brains, but clueless when it comes to his own daughters—disappears, and his choices, both past and present, force the family dynamics to change at last.  As the three sisters struggle to make sense of it, their mother must emerge from the greenhouse and leave the flowers that have long been the focus of her warmth and nurturing.

For Clementine, the next step means retracing the winding route that led her to this very moment:  to understand her father's betrayal, the tragedy of her first lost love, her family's divisions, and her best friend Eli's sudden romantic interest.  Most of all, she may finally have found the voice with which to share the inside story of being the odd sister out.
