BF Home and School Association

The HSA supports BF activities and provides additional enrichment to the school program. We encourage parental involvement at all levels. You make it possible for the HSA to promote the welfare of all students, maximizing opportunities for their physical, mental, and social development.

HSA meetings are held each month.  These meetings are open to all BF parents/guardians. We encourage all to attend.

We are always in need of volunteers.  Our volunteer sign-up form can be found below in the "Flyers" folder. Help us help the BF community!

Happy First Day at BF

Welcome to the BF HSA! I am so happy to welcome back our returning families and so excited to welcome in a whole group of new families.

Believe it or not, there is already a lot going on so I am going to jump right in to it.

1. Teacher Appreciation Breakfast VOLUNTEERS NEEDED this week: Our amazing Teacher Appreciation committee, led by Kate Yates and Erin Mannion are hosting their first breakfast this Friday. It is a great tradition to offer teachers a welcome and a thank you on the morning after Back to School Night and this year that comes up quickly. Breakfast items are requested for this Friday. Please see the note below and click on the link to volunteer.

We appreciate your contributions. Please contact Erin Mannion at erinmannion@aol.com or Kate Yates at kmyates@optonline.net if you have any questions. All items can be dropped off in the BF Parent Lounge Thursday evening during Back to School Night, on the porch of 117 Brookside Ave or 135 South Van Dien Ave or by 7:30am on Friday morning in the BF Parent Center.

2. BF Spirit Wear Sale: Thanks to Susan Cook and Jen White’s hard work this summer, we will be kicking off the year with a Spirit Wear sale. Items will be on sale at Back to School Night, this Thursday, September 8th. See details and attached flyer below.

BF Spirit Wear Sale on Back to School Night!

We are excited to announce that BF Spirit Wear -- including sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, and flannel pants -- will be on sale starting at 5:30 pm on Back to School Night, September 8th. The sale table will be outside the BF main office. The attached poster shows the items for sale and associated cost. Cash or checks made payable to "BF HSA" will be accepted. Please note that a limited number of items and sizes are available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis - again, starting at 5:30 pm. If we sell out quickly, we will consider having another sale later in the year.

3. Stop and Shop A+ Rewards: Janine Gillian is back this year to help boost our participation in the Stop and Shop A+ Rewards program. Janine did a great job with this program last year and I can’t wait to see what she does this year. Be on the look out for more information at Back to School night this Thursday.

4. BF HSA Dues: I have received some questions about how we will be paying dues this year. Keep your eye out here for messages but do know that after great success last year, we will again be using Community Pass.

There will be much more to come in the next few weeks but this seems like enough for the first day of school- phew!

As always, if you have any questions feel free to reach out to me or any of our board members. I am including our contact info below and our elementary schools in case incoming 6th grade families would like to reach out to a family who has gone through the same transition.

Thanks everyone and hope the first day went well for all!
