TIPS FOR USING COMMUNITY PASS
We are using Community Pass a lot this year so there have been a few questions. I cannot include specific links here because you need to be signed in to your own personal account to get to the various payment options.
Therefore, in order to access our information follow the steps below:
1. Log in to Ridgewood Community Pass
2. Scroll down to ‘Ridgewood HSA- Benjamin Franklin Middle School'
3. And each of our eligible programs can then be found under this tab.
AD SPACE IN THE BF DIRECTORY
Joanne Cheng has graciously agreed to solicit and organize the ads for our directory again this year. Please see the attached information. Ads are due no later than October 13th.
BFMS STEM COMMITTEE/FUNDRAISING KICKOFF:
The STEM committee is excited to kick-off our 2016-2017 fundraising season by selling BFMS STEM t-shirts. Proceeds from this sale will support BFMS STEM initiatives.
A huge thank you to Maria Vester, Anna Salerno and Larisa Shlalet for organizing this initiative!
Please place your order via Community Pass by 5:00 pm on Friday, October 7th.
Short sleeve maroon t-shirts are $12 each.
Available sizes include: youth large, adult small, adult medium, adult large & adult extra large.
Please indicate quantity, size & homeroom teacher.
Homeroom teachers will distribute t-shirts during homeroom.

ADULT FALL SOCIAL- October 15th, 7:30PM, The DeVita’s (226 Sollas Ct.)
Join your fellow BF parents and teachers to kick off the new school year! Maggie and Tom Devita will once again graciously open their backyard to our BF community. There will be tailgate food and beverages, sports broadcast on a large outdoor screen, fire pits and plenty of great conversation. This is a super casual and relaxed night out. Wear your jeans and sweatshirts. We will be outside! Details on payment to follow.
BFMS HSA DUES
Thanks to Deanne Dunne’s hard work, we are set up and ready to collect this year’s dues on Community Pass. Paying your dues helps to support the efforts of the HSA and you get a BF Directory at the same time.
BF AUTHOR VISITS
Both the 6th and 7th grades are scheduled for author visits in the month of October. Please see the attached flyers for more information and go to Community Pass to purchase autographed books from our visiting authors.

GOT SCHOOL ON YOUR MIND? Great! Now it’s time to start thinking SPIRIT NIGHT What is Spirit Night?
It's a night for BF students only!
A night of fun, filled with games,dancing, inflatables, treats, the spooktacular Haunted House, and more! It’s a night your kids and you don't want to miss!
But we can't do it with you! It takes 100 volunteers to make the night happen!
Spirit Night needs help in many areas:
Decorating chairs for both the cafeteria and halls ( 2 for each)
Decorating at 2pm
Take down at 9:30 pm
So please lets start the school year off with a bang of volunteers!

Spirit Night Haunted House needs help in many areas:
Dressing up in costume the night of Spirit night to scare the students
Constructing and decorating the haunted house
Moving heavy set pieces from below the stage

Is Halloween one of your favorite holidays? Do you enjoy watching the DIY network? Do you like scaring kids? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then we need you! Or if you just want to be part of a great BF tradition. That’s right planning is now going on for our annual BF Spirit Night Haunted house. We need people to help plan, build, and carry heavy items and actors to do the scaring. Please send Jill Kaye an email if you are interested. Prplcow77@aol.com
RIDGEWOOD CAMBODIA CLUB SCOOP NIGHT- October 6th, 5-9pm
Head to Ben and Jerry’s on Thursday night and all proceeds will benefit the Ridgewood Village School in Cambodia. Event is sponsored by the Ridgewood Cambodia Club.
