Friends of BF Campaign 2015
Dear BF Families and Friends,
Welcome to the Friends of BF Fundraising Campaign for the 2014-15 school year. The mission of the Friends of BFMS is to raise funds to enhance the educational experience of all students at Benjamin Franklin Middle School. The Friends of BF committee works with our principal, Tony Orsini, to identify worthy expenditures that are not funded through other channels in the district school system. This is our only school-wide fundraiser each year.
Since 2008, money raised through the annual Friends of BF Campaign has allowed us to make physical improvements to our campus and to contribute to both enrichment programs and curriculum-based projects at BFMS. During our tenure, Friends of BF donations allowed us to purchase flat-screen TVs for the main entrances and cafeteria for display of school-related information, short-throw projectors for all academic classrooms, and transformation of old-style chalkboards into whiteboards; yearly author visits, highlighted by this year’s visit from local writer Harlan Coben; support for our musical theater program BF Players as well as other activities in school; a welcoming mural in the main office; new entryway mats and an outdoor training course, both to be installed shortly; a new sound system in the gym; and support for two Eagle Scout projects that benefited the BF community. Your generous financial support has also provided support for our teachers for classroom “extras” – specific supplies requested by teachers. A major project for 2015-2016 is to purchase and install new scientific equipment and lab tables for all of our students.
This year we are giving away a $100 gift card to the Park West Tavern to one lucky family participating in our fundraising campaign.
This year our goal is to raise $15,000. Keep in mind that the Friends of BFMS campaign is our ONLY fundraiser. The monies we raise will have an immediate and valuable impact on each and every student. All contributions are tax deductible. The BF Home & School Association (BFHSA), a 501c3 organization, greatly appreciates matching funds from corporations. Please contact BFHSA treasurer Nadine McArthur with any questions regarding matching funds.
Thank you for your generosity. Every donation makes a difference. With you, we make BF great!
